Lou Solomon is an author, TEDx speaker, founder, and CEO of Interact Studio.
A “lifer” in communications, Lou spent the first part of her career in radio, television, and public relations. In 2000, she founded Interact Studio based on the idea that a speaking curriculum should include more than traditional tips and techniques.
Lou holds a Master’s in Organizational Development and is a member of the adjunct faculty at the McColl School of Business at Queens University of Charlotte. She is also co-founder of the school’s annual TWIST Conference for Women.
Lou’s first book, Say Something Real, takes a look at the true nature of authentic and inauthentic communication. Following her graduate work at McColl School of Business, her articles and insights were published by Harvard Business Review, CEO.com, Fast Company, and SUCCESS Magazine.
The Heart Line
Lou overcame acute shyness and self-doubt as a child. Ultimately, she used that experience to create a curriculum that helps people find their voice, tell their stories, and grow their influence.
Community is central to Interact Studio’s purpose and at the heart of its success. Interact Studio has awarded over 500 scholarships to creatives and non-profit leaders.
Lou serves on the Board of Directors for Charlotte Is Creative (CIC), the non-profit that champions the diverse community of creatives in Charlotte. She is an active supporter of Roof Above, serving the homeless, and the Charlotte Humane Society. She is also a past president of Leadership Charlotte and a board member of Women Executives of Charlotte.
